Rules at Lake Whitney Marina
Contact management with any
questions or comments you may have about the rules and regulations below. This is
not intended to be a complete or exhaustive list. Information is subject to
change without notice.
Please refer to the
policies
regarding deposits, pets on the property, holidays, seasons, no smoking
areas, cabin and
campsite reservations, check-in/check-out times, and more.
General
Information:
- In case of emergency, first call
911 for assistance and then contact management or the ship's store.
Lake
Whitney Marina's contact information is posted on the ship's store door, guard post, property maps, and
the bulletin board
displayed in the ship's store parking lot.
- Daily entry/parking fees
are
charged by Lake Whitney Marina; they are in addition to fees
charged for facilities or services. Fees and payments are due in advance and
must be paid in full.
Fees and advance payments are non-refundable and
non-transferable. Fees vary and subject to change without notice.
- No persons
or organizations may engage in still photography or video for
non-personal use.
- Groups, clubs, organizations, associations, special events,
businesses, tournaments, or reunions must notify management in
advance for permission, policies, rules, fees, and any insurance
requirements before planning any activities or events at Lake
Whitney Marina.
- No commercial activities allowed without prior authorization
from management.
- No soliciting, selling, or advertising
permitted on the property. Distribution of printed matter is NOT allowed.
- Transferring, transporting, or
dispensing gas from any portable container is strictly
prohibited on the
property, which includes boat slips, boat docks, boat ramps, shoreline, parking
lots, roadways, cabins, and the campground.
- Quiet hours on the property are 10:00pm - 8:00am
daily.
- Parents and/or legal guardians are responsible for their
children at all times. Children may not be left unattended on
the property. Minors must remain under adult supervision and control
at all times.
- Trespassing, theft of service,
disorderly conduct, criminal mischief,
illegal dumping, suspicious activities, or other unlawful act will
be reported to law enforcement.
- Violation
of marina rules or policies, or any complaints received by
management may result in
immediate ejection without refund.
Any incident may result in ejection from the
property by marina management without refund.
- Discharge or use of fireworks, sparklers,
firecrackers, firearms, air guns, BB guns, pellet guns,
projectiles, bows and arrows, paintball guns, or explosives
are prohibited year-round. Violators are subject to being
reported law enforcement.
- Discard trash and waste in proper
receptacles. Do not dump fish parts, cigarette butts,
bait, fishing hooks, food scraps, bottles, cans, cooking oil
or grease, ashes, or charcoal anywhere on the ground or in the lake. Do not leave
bags of trash on the ground, decks, porches, at campsites, or on
docks. Trash attracts pets, wildlife, insects, and ants.
- No littering.
- Be alert for wildlife, ducks, roadrunners, squirrels, birds, snakes,
foxes, etc. Do
NOT feed, disturb, approach, touch, harm, or harass them.
- Do not collect or disturb plants,
flowers, rocks, or natural, historical or archeological features.
- Do not cut, climb, or deface any trees.
- Vehicles, vessels, and boat trailers must be registered with
Lake Whitney Marina prior to using
facilities or services on the property. Unauthorized motor vehicles, trailers, or golf carts
are subject to being towed at owner's risk and expense
without notice. No trespassing.
Vehicles, Golf Carts, Bicycles:
- Motor vehicles,
golf carts, and bicycles may be operated on the property only.
Managment must pre-approve golf carts prior to entering
the property; proof of insurance is required. Motor vehicles and golf carts
may be operated by
licensed
drivers only. Passengers must be seated and remain inside vehicles
and carts at all times.
- ATVs,
quads, UTVs, dune buggies, go-karts, off-road vehicles, mini-bikes,
scooters, dirt bikes, skateboards, skates, and motorized foot
scooters may NOT be operated on the property.
- The
posted speed
limit on the property is 10 mph.
- Watch for animals, pedestrians, children at play,
vehicles, boats in tow, and any marina-operated vehicles or golf carts.
- Do not kick up rocks, spin tires, or skid while operating any
motor vehicle, golf cart, or bicycle. Watch for loose gravel.
- The operator of a vehicle must complete in
full, date, and sign their vehicle tag. Each tag is unique. Vehicle tags must
remain visible at all times while on the property.
Tags and related fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Motor vehicles, golf carts, and bicycles may operate on
roads and roadways only. They may NOT be operated: on
the grass; off-road; along the shoreline; within the boat ramp or water rec areas; on grassy hillsides
or open fields; on boat docks or walkways; on or in front of the pier; beyond physical road barriers and/or safety cones;
beyond campsite boundaries; through unoccupied or
open sites in a loop; or within any designated "closed
areas" on the property.
- Wear a safety helmet while operating a bicycle. Do not operate
bicycles from dusk to dawn when visibility is limited. Children
must be supervised while operating bicycles.
- Motor vehicles, golf carts, boat trailers, vessels, RVs, and
the like may NOT be washed, repaired,
or maintained on the property. They must be taken off-site.
- Parking is limited at cabins and campsites. Park in
designated areas within your assigned campsite and or cabin
space only. Overflow parking is available in the ship's store
parking lot for boat trailers and oversized vehicles. Parking of vehicles or trailers is
not permitted at
unoccupied or open cabins or campsites; between campsites; across
multiple campsites; on hillsides; within open fields or grassy
areas; or loading/unloading areas beside or behind some cabins. Do
NOT remove, relocate, or disturb
any barriers along grass or roadways located around a cabin.
- Roadways, entrances, and walkways must remain clear and accessible at all times
for emergency vehicles, law enforcement, and marina-operated
vehicles.
- Do not obstruct access to any roadway, campsite, entrance, exit,
gated area, boat dock walkway, boat ramp or launch lane, or
other facility.
Camping &
Cabins:
-
An advance
reservation is required to stay in a cabin or campsite. Each reservation is for a
unique cabin or campsite. No open camping available. Walk-ins are NOT accepted at any time, day or night. Unauthorized persons, vehicles, and/or
camping units on the property may be reported to law
enforcement.
-
Guests with cabin and campsite reservations
need to go directly to the floating ship's store upon arrival to register and
check-in with the marina. Each registered guest with a
vehicle must appear in-person at the store to fill out
and sign their unique vehicle tag.
-
Vehicle tags must remain visible and
clearly displayed from the rear view mirror at all times while
on the property.
Unauthorized vehicles are subject to being towed at owner's risk
and expense without advance notice.
-
The maximum number of occupants
or vehicles
allowed at a given cabin or campsite may not be exceeded at any
time.
-
Visitors/invitees of registered cabin/campsite guests are
responsible for registering with the ship's store
and paying the required daily fees upon their arrival. Visitors
are permitted on the property from dawn to dusk only; visitors are
NOT permitted to stay or park overnight. A valid tag for day
visitors must be displayed at all times while on the property.

Camping is permitted at
marked sites only and while using an approved camping
unit. No car camping, truck camping, boat camping, or dry
camping allowed on the property.
Only one
camping
unit allowed per campsite.
No camping units
allowed on the same
site as any cabin. Some sites are restricted
to camping units of certain lengths or types. Only plastic stakes
may be used on the property; metal stakes are prohibited.

No generators may be operated in the campground.
-
No air conditioning units permitted while
tent camping.
-
Portable
structures, canopies, or shelters that are oversized and/or designed
for groups must be pre-approved by management before you arrive on
the property.
-
Your cabin (inside and outside) and/or
campsite area must be in the same condition at check-in and check-out to
avoid additional charges. No trash, litter, or food scraps.
-
Daily housekeeping is not available.
-
Trash pickup service at individual cabins or campsites is not
provided; put trash bags directly in dumpster. Do not leave trash on
ground or outside for an extended period of time.
-
Cabin and campsite occupants are responsible for
keeping immediate areas, porches, decks, and campsites free of
clutter at all times during their stay.
-
Individuals are responsible for complying with
local burn bans or restrictions in effect in Hill County,
TX, along with related violations, penalties, and fines issued
by law enforcement.
-
Grills
and campfires are allowed in designated areas at cabins
and campsites.
No grills or fires allowed on docks, floating cabins, cabin
porches, cabin decks, parking lots, roadways, or picnic tables.
Construction of new fire rings
on the property is NOT allowed.
-
Burn
only wood at campfires. Do not burn
trash, cans, bottles, clothing, or debris.
-
Grills and campfires must be attended to at all times
and MUST be
completely extinguished before leaving immediate area (no
visible signs of smoke, steam, ambers, or flames).
-
Do not
dump oil, grease, fish parts, waste, rubbish, ash,
or charcoal
on the ground.
-
Do not
place hot or flammable items in dumpster.
-
Do not cover grass at campsite with tarps, carpets, or mats.
Marina:
-
Notify
management immediately of any unusual activity, unauthorized
access, or facilities requiring attention.
-
Facilities, hours, fees, and access vary and subject to
change.
Fees must be paid in full and in advance. All fees are
non-refundable. No credits or refunds for any reason including,
but not limited to, weather
conditions, lake levels, third parties, vessel maintenance, early
departures, buyer's remorse, or ejection from the property.
-
The designated area for
fueling/refueling any vessel on the property is the gas pump
located at the
floating ship's store dock. It is prohibited elsewhere on the
property.
-
Outside contractors and vendors must be
pre-approved by management. Check-in and check-out required with
each visit. Insurance is required.
-
Wear a PFD
when you're in or around the water.
-
Lake levels fluctuate and weather conditions
are subject to change very quickly. Boaters
are advised to use caution and remain alert for any changes while loading, unloading, boarding, launching,
operating, parking, towing, or docking.
-
Vessels may not be left unattended along
shoreline, boat ramps, floating platforms, or
store dock.
-
Individuals must seek
permission from management and meet any conditions or
requirements prior to any docking, mooring, anchoring, or
beaching a vessel within the waters of the property,
day or night, when a valid licensee agreement is not on file.
Unauthorized vessels will be reported to law enforcement.
-
In-water vessel assignments, tie-ups, or slip rentals are
non-transferable and require proof of insurance. An assignment
is for a unique vessel in a specified location. All fees are due in
full at time of assignment. No trespassing.
-
Observe buoys, posted signs and water markers
at all times.
There is a NO WAKE area around boat docks, boat
ramps, ship's store dock, and shoreline.
-
NO SWIMMING, JUMPING, or DIVING allowed in
or around boat slips,
boat docks,
boat ramps, gas
pumps, passenger loading/unloading areas,
or via closed areas of the property.
-
Place all trash, bottles, cans, and cigarette butts in dumpster only.
-
Do not litter.
-
Do not dump anything overboard.
-
Glass containers are NOT allowed
at the water rec area or shoreline, boat ramps,
boat docks, or parking lots.
-
Pet waste must be collected and discarded in dumpster.
Fishing:
-
Daily fees are required for fishing on the
property. Fees are due in full and
immediately upon arrival on the property. Call the marina for
assistance.
-
Fishing is permitted at the
indoor
fishing area located on the floating ship's store dock.
Hours of operation vary and are subject to change. No
fishing allowed from walkways, docks, or slips; loading/unloading
areas or near gas pumps on store dock; in water rec area; at boat
ramps; or via any closed or
restricted area on the property.

Clean fish at the
fish cleaning station only. Fish may NOT be cleaned at cabins, floating cabins, campsites, docks, fields, parking areas,
shoreline, or elsewhere on the property.
-
Fish waste or parts should be tightly bundled in a sealed bag and placed in
dumpster only.
-
Individuals are responsible
for complying with state fishing license rules and requirements.
Boat Docks:
-
Boat docks are private and may not be
accessed without a valid docking
agreement on file and management authorization. No trespassing. Unauthorized vessels will be reported to
law enforcement.
-
Management must pre-approve any furniture,
lighting, appliances, decorations, dock boxes, or similar items
before they may be brought onto any dock.
-
Vessels may NOT occupy or tie up in any vacant or open
boat slips on a temporary or short-term basis without
management permission.
-
Gates to boat docks must
remain closed at all times.
-
All walkways and fingers on docks must remain free
and clear of obstructions, including water toys, inflatables,
kayaks, chairs, tables, extension cords, trash, rods, and any
personal articles. Store items aboard your vessel or in your dock
box.
-
Garden hoses must be stowed away or hung from an
approved storage wheel or hanger. They may not be left on walkways,
fingers, or in the water.
-
Only walk along boat docks and walkways. No running,
yelling, or horseplay allowed.
-
Children must be
accompanied by an adult and remain supervised at all times.
-
Pets
must be supervised at all times. All pet waste must be collected and
removed immediately. Pet waste baggies are located in the ship's
store parking lot and near M / N / J boat docks.
-
Swimming, jumping, or diving is NOT allowed at any
boat slip, around any boat dock or platform, or near the ship's
store dock.
-
NO FISHING allowed from walkways, boat slips, or
fingers. Boat owners may fish from their vessel while
tied up in their assigned slip only.
-
All walkways, boat slips, and
boat docks are NO SMOKING only.
-
NO OPEN FLAMES are allowed on walkways,
slips, or docks.
-
Electric grills are allowed on docks. Charcoal,
BBQ, and gas grills are prohibited.
-
Flammable items and hazardous materials, including
paint, chemicals, and
portable fuel
containers are not allowed on docks.
-
Respect your neighbors. No shouting or yelling on
boat docks.
-
No glass bottles allowed on docks.
-
Invitees/guests must be accompanied by the licensee.
Water Rec Area:
-
No lifeguards are on duty. Swim at your own risk.
Wear PFDs.
-
Children must be
accompanied by an adult and remain supervised at all times.
-
Keep your area clean and tidy at
all times. Trash
must be placed in dumpster. Do not leave
cigarette butts, cans, bottle tops, food, or trash on the grass
or shoreline. No glass containers,
loud music, grills, campfires, fishing, or fish cleaning
allowed.
-
No vessels allowed in water rec area.
-
Vessels may not be left unattended along the
shoreline.
-
Vessels must observe NO WAKE area around marina.
-
Vehicles shall park in either the ship's store or
boat ramp parking lots. Do not park off-road in any grass area above
the water rec area. Do not block access to boat ramps, roadways, or
gates with vehicles and/or boat trailers.
-
Vehicles may be operated on roadways only. They
are not permitted on the grass, along the shoreline, on any
hillside, or beyond any barrier or signpost.
Ship's Store Dock / Indoor Fishing Area:
-
NO OPEN FLAMES
permitted anywhere on floating dock or walkway.
-
NO SMOKING permitted
anywhere on floating dock or walkway.
-
No open containers of alcohol permitted
anywhere on floating dock or walkway.
-
Only walk along walkway and dock. No running, yelling, or horseplay.
-
No swimming, jumping, or diving around dock.
-
Vessels may NOT be left unattended at dock.
-
Walkways must remain free of obstacles, coolers,
bait buckets, and personal articles.
-
Place all trash directly in dumpster, which is
located in store parking lot.
-
Do not litter. Do not throw
anything in the water.
-
Daily fishing fees are required and due
in full upon arrival. No refunds, credits or exchanges permitted
for any reason including, but not limited to, any service
interruptions, weather conditions, or lake levels.
-
Fishing permitted in designated areas only on
ship's store dock. Fishing rods may not
be left unattended.
-
No
outside food or drinks, sunflower seeds, portable radios,
chests, or
coolers.
Boat Ramp:
-
Individuals must
register with the marina upon arrival and pay required fees before launching,
hauling out, putting in, or taking out any vessel. All fees and
vehicle tags are non-refundable and non-transferable.
A valid tag must be displayed from the rear view mirror while on
the property. Vehicles with missing or invalid tags are subject
to being reported to law enforcement.

Boat
ramp hours of operation are from dawn to dusk only. No overnight parking
permitted for
visitor's boat trailers or vehicles.
-
There are two ramps on the property. Watch for posted sign at marina indicating which boat ramp(s) are in-use. Lake levels fluctuate
during the year and subject to change without notice.
-
No parking beside boat ramp or along shoreline
when lake levels are below normal. All vehicles and trailers must be
left in a parking lot. Do not park or block access to ramp or launch
lane. Do not block any entrance or exit to
parking lots, boat ramps, dock walkways, loading/unloading areas, or
cabin/campsite areas.
Violators are subject to being towed at owner's
risk and expense without notice.

No swimming or fishing permitted at any boat ramp
or floating platform.
