WHAT TO BRING
 

This is a list of items to bring with you if you are staying in a cabin, campsite, or rental RV at Lake Whitney Marina @ Juniper Cove. Most items are available at local discount stores near the marina.

 

 

OUTDOORS

  • Picnic table cover

  • Insect-repellent lotion or spray

  • Battery-operated lantern or flashlight

  • Ice chests, coolers, gel packs, bags of ice

  • Large trash bags (to use at your campsite and cabin).

  • Small trash bags (to keep with you to collect empty bottles, cans, tops, lids, wrappers, butts and tobacco, fishing line, hooks, unused bait, empty packaging, sunflower seeds, watermelon seeds, peanut shells, orange or banana peels, etc. Nothing may be dropped on the ground or thrown overboard in the lake. No littering.).

  • Camping chairs and outdoor table (furniture in cabins and rental RVs are for indoor use only)

  • Tevas, sandals, or similar footwear

  • Towels

  • Portable canopy or pop-up sun shade

  • If your cabin, campsite, or rental RV comes with a campfire (circle of rocks), you'll need to bring firewood. The firewood must be local to the Whitney area and each piece must be less than 30" long.

  • If your cabin or rental RV comes with a charcoal grill, you'll need to bring a bag of charcoal, lighter fluid, matches, grilling utensils, foil, chopping board, plate or dish, and grilling brush.

  • If you bring a personal smoker, BBQ grill, gas grill, or electric grill, you'll need to bring a pan, tray, or some other disposable container to collect drippings, juices, grease, food scraps, crumbs, ash, briquets, and wood chips. Do not leave any signs or traces of cooking, grilling, food, oil, grease, or other residue on surfaces, picnic tables, wood decks, grass, or on the ground.

 

Notes:

  1. Fish shall be cleaned and scaled at the marina's fish cleaning station only, otherwise they must be taken off-site and cleaned elsewhere. Portable fish cleaning tables and sinks are NOT allowed in the campground area or on boat docks.

  2. No portable fuel containers permitted in the campground, parking areas, or on docks.

  3. No tiki torches are allowed in the campground or on docks.

  4. No open flame devices permitted inside cabins or rental RVs, such as candles.

  5. If you cook inside or outside during your stay, please keep your immediate area clean, tidy, and free of trash at all times. There should not be any visible signs of cooking oil, grease splatters, crumbs, scraps, bones, food, peelings, or juices. Never dump anything on the ground, or pour anything down sinks or toilets. Do not leave bags of trash sitting on porches, steps, decks, or on the grass. Place all trash in the dumpster immediately.

  6. No seafood boils allowed in the campground.

 

 

KITCHEN

  • Bags of ice (sold at ship's store)

  • Food, snacks

  • Beverages

  • Plastic table cover

  • Cutting boards (to use at outdoor picnic tables, on kitchen counters, and any table tops)

  • Hand sanitizer, hand soap

  • Coffee, coffee filters, cups or mugs, creamer, sugar

  • Foil, plastic wrap

  • Storage bags, storage containers

  • Plates, bowls, cups, eating utensils, napkins, paper towel

  • Condiments, seasoning

  • Cooking utensils, cooking spray

  • Dishwashing liquid

  • Hand towels

  • Kitchen-size trash bags

  • Disposable containers with lids to collect any grease, cooking oil, juices, drippings, food scraps, left over food, etc.

  • If your cabin or rental RV comes with a cooktop, you'll need to bring pans, pots, lids, cookware, and utensils.

  • If your cabin or rental RV comes with an oven, you'll need to bring oven mitts, oven-safe bakeware, and utensils.

  • If your cabin or rental RV comes with a microwave oven, you'll need to bring microwave-safe cookware.

  • If you bring a personal deep fryer or skillet, you'll need to bring a table cover and disposable containers to collect used cooking oil and food scraps.

 

 

BATH

  • Bath towels

  • Personal care items

  • Soap

  • Shampoo, conditioner, hair products

  • Hair dryer

  • Extra rolls of toilet tissue

 

 

PETS

  • Bowls for food and water

  • Food, treats, can opener, utensils, ziploc bags to store opened bags or cans

  • Identification tag

  • Collar, leash, harness (pets cannot be tied to metal stakes)

  • Lint roller

  • Life jacket for your pet

  • Small trash bags (to keep with you and for picking up pet waste)

  • Trash bags (to collect empty food cans, food pieces and crumbs, chew toys, pet hair, and litter)

  • Crate or portable carrier

 

 

CAMPING UNITS

  • Plastic stakes (metal stakes are not allowed due to shallow service lines underground and rocks).

  • Wheel chocks

  • Blocks, boards, or similar items for leveling

  • Sewer hose and adapter (discharge of any gray or black water on the ground is prohibited).

  • RV power cords, adapters or extensions for 30A and/or 50A electric service at pedestals

 

 

BOATS AND JET SKIS

  • PFDs and other required safety equipment for vessels

  • Wheel chocks for your boat trailer

  • Trash bags (to collect butts and tobacco, empty bottles and cans, tops, lids, food, peelings, seeds, peanut shells, hooks, fishing line, bait, wrappers, etc.).

  • If you rent an overnight boat slip, you'll need to bring your own ropes and boat fenders. Vessels must secured within the assigned dockage space and cannot hit the dock or other vessels.

 

 

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Phone charger

  • Personal hot spot for internet access

  • Rechargeable or corded handheld vacuum

  • Windex
